"I have to give special thanks to Dr. Heidtman who has always been reassuring and wonderful work with, especially when having my first child."

"I would like to give special thanks to Dr. Heidtman and his nurse Amanda. They made me feel like family. It is very hard to find a good GYN let alone a medical team that listens to your medical issues and treats you honest open and direct answers. They are so friendly and compassionate without being condescending and patronizing. Thank you so much for your help. I live in Rock Hill, SC and drive here whenever I need to see a GYN."

"I saw Dr. Heidtman throughout my pregnancy. I was able to see him every appointment. I had some complications during my pregnancy and he made my family and I feel so comfortable and informed throughout the whole pregnancy. He is by far the best doctor I have ever been to. I have since recommend him to all of my friends pregnant or not."

"Amanda, Dr Heidtman’s nurse, is wonderful! Always smiling with a great attitude! Great job knowledge as well. Thanks so much for being a great practice!"

"Dr. Heidtman and Amanda are great! I am so pleased and they make me feel so comfortable."

Dr. Edward Heidtman

Dr. Edward Heidtman was born and raised in a small town in Central Florida.  He graduated from the University of Florida as a Phi Beta Kappa and then stayed in Gainesville to attend medical school at the University of Florida.

Dr. Heidtman moved to Greenville in 1993 to start his residency at the Greenville Hospital System. While there, he delivered over a thousand babies, performed hundreds of gynecologic surgeries, and received recognition for his surgical skills and clinical research. A sixth-generation Floridian, he assumed that his time in Greenville would merely be a “change of scenery” for a few years before returning to Central Florida to be nearer his family’s orange groves. However, he fell in love with the area and decided to make the Upstate his permanent home.

After he finished residency, Dr. Heidtman took his first job in Spartanburg where he practiced for 5 ½ years before returning to Greenville at the end of 2002.  He was in a medium-sized practice in Spartanburg but saw a unique opportunity to purchase a solo Obstetrics & Gynecology practice from Dr. Dan Adcock, who was retiring after more than 30 years in practice. Dr. Heidtman wanted to focus more on individualized care and took this opportunity to do so. He moved back to Greenville, joined Dr. Adcock, and Carolina Center for Women’s Health was formed.

As Dr. Adcock retired, the practice was joined by Dr. Shannon Johnson. Drs. Heidtman and Johnson continued to practice together for the next four years, enjoying the intimacy of a small OB/GYN practice. During this time, they became aware of the changes occurring in medical practices and decided to merge with the former Greenville East Center for Women, who shared many of their ideals. Together they formed Carolina Women’s Health and moved the practice to its current location on Halton Road.

It was during his year as Chief Resident that Dr. Heidtman met his future wife, Leigh Watters Heidtman. They married in 1999 and now have two children. He enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, water sports, snow skiing, golf, playing the piano and landscaping. He and his wife are very active in the community and she is on the boards of several charitable organizations. They attend the Buncombe Street Methodist Church.

Dr. Heidtman is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Southeastern OB-GYN Society, as well as other local, state, and national professional societies.
