Dr. Vanessa Mazzoli

Dr. Vanessa Mazzoli grew up in Spartanburg and became an avid Clemson football fan, especially after the National Championship of 1981. She graduated from there magna cum laude with a degree in Psychology/minor in Biological Sciences in 1986. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She loves connecting with other Thetas and hopes to live long enough to see another Clemson football national championship team!

She went on to enjoy four wonderful years in the historic city of Charleston and graduated from the Medical University of SC. There she participated in student government and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She fell in love with surgery. That, combined with the fun of delivering babies, is what attracted her to her field. After interviewing coast to coast for residency programs, she decided she couldn’t leave her family and such a gorgeous part of the country.

She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Greenville Hospital System. She has been in private practice in Greenville since 1994. Her professional society memberships include American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, American College of Ob/Gyn, American Medical Association, and SC Medical Association.

The biggest blessing in her life is the privilege of being a mom...even of a teenager! Her pregnancy was complicated by preterm labor, 10 horrible weeks of bedrest, and postpartum depression. She fully admits that having her own not-so-fun pregnancy has been her very best education as an obstetrician. She is an active member of Mauldin United Methodist Church and plans to one day use her gifts in medical missions work. She is almost always involved in some type of Bible study.

Her passion is surgery, focusing on minimally invasive laparoscopic hysterectomies. She also loves seeing young reproductive age women and enjoying a long relationship with them from college, through marriage, to completing their own families. She also has a special place in her heart for those young ladies experiencing their first gynecological exam and works hard to make it a good experience.
