Dr. Rebecca Keith

Dr.  Rebecca Keith was born in Indiana where she spent most of her childhood years.  She graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington where she double majored in Chemistry and Criminal Justice.   While there she also worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration for a 6 month internship.  She completed her medical school training in Indianapolis, Indiana graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1991 and her OB/GYN residency from Methodist Hospital in 1995.  She worked in private practice in Indiana and South Carolina before she became a member of Carolina Women’s Health in 2006.

Dr. Keith enjoys all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology but she has a particular love for Obstetrics, especially high risk OB.  She had complete management of her high risk patients while practicing in Hilton Head, SC and she currently works in conjunction with the Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists at St. Francis Hospital. Dr. Keith feels like the most important exam for any female is her very first gynecologic visit.  As such, she tailors that exam to the patient and stresses patience and compassion for both adolescents and adults.  She performs surgery at St. Francis hospital including advanced laparoscopy and total laparoscopic hysterectomy.

Dr. Keith met her husband, Tim, while in Bloomington, Indiana and they were married in 1986.  They have two children, Rachel and Ryan.  Tim was the stay at home parent for 15 years but now owns and runs Crowne Cleaners in Simpsonville.  Rachel will attend Furman University in the fall of 2013 and is a skilled equestrienne.  Ryan is a sophomore at Mauldin High School and plays baseball, golf, and percussion in the school band.   In her free time, Dr. Keith loves to be outdoors.  She enjoys hiking, running, and yard work.   She and her family have participated in the local Mud Runs for the last three years and when possible will run various 5k races. She asked for, and received, a chain saw for Christmas this year and loves doing little household projects when she has the time and energy.
